I live in Devon....near Torquay.
This place is known as The English Riviera....they even have it written in flowers as you drive in to the town!
So why oh why do I feel like it has done nothing but rain for the past 4 months?!
Every single day looks the same right now....it's so dark during the day that we have to have the lights on in the house at all times.
There are leaks springing up all over the house thanks to the relentless rain.
Nearby towns and villages are flooding worse than they have done for years.
Homes are being destroyed, two lives have even been lost in flooding related accidents in the last month alone in the area....
It is utterly depressing.
And so I am looking forward to the summer time, dreaming of days when the living room will once again be filled with light and we can actually venture out into the yard!
We don't have a garden as such but we have an outdoor space which is big enough for Tyne to enjoy playing in - we could fit a sandpit or paddling pool out there easily, there's room for his to play on a bike or trampoline...
We just need to spruce it up a little and make it more inviting...so I'll certainly be investing in some nice patio furniture or outdoor garden furniture, and some nice plants and hanging baskets etc.
I'm looking forward to sitting on the step in the sunshine, watching Tyne enjoy playing outside for the first time....as he should be old enough to enjoy that by then.
I'm looking forward to hopefully having a BBQ...and certainly going to some, my sister does a great BBQ!
I'm looking forward to days out at all the lovely local seaside towns and beaches we're lucky enough to have on our doorstep, enjoying sherbert-dipped ice cream from my favorite stand in Exmouth and taking long walks along the Pier at Paington while Tyne enjoys the amusement arcades along the way.
Ahhh summer....please come quickly!!!!
