What We Loved in Golden Globes 2014

Golden Globes is the fun one in the Award Show family. In Oscars everybody is so serious, Baftas are just so British, but in the Golden Globes there is food (if any of the people attending the Golden Globes actually ever eat anything), but most importantly there is booze. The great thing about the Golden Globes 2014 was that there were two fabulously funny hosts – Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The lengthy 3 hour show, which is the same length as Martin Scorsese’s first act in his films, nicely floated by while waiting to see what the next witty joke was. Oh yes and of course there were some awards presented as well.

Here are our favorite picks of the GOLDEN GLOBES 2014 Ceremony:

‘Tamy’ aka Tina and Amy made several funnies:
Gravity being a story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age. Touché!
Matthew McConaughey loosing 45 lbs for Dallas Buyers Club or what actresses call ‘being in a movie’. Touché again!
Cecil B. De Mille Award being the award for the tiniest man with the biggest glasses as this year it went to Woody Allen after Martin Scorsese got it last year.

Alfonso Cuaron (director of Gravity) thanking Sandra Bullock: ‘I want to thank you for not quitting when you thought that I had told you: Sandra, I’m going to give you herpes. When I really meant to say: Sandra, I’m going to give you an earpiece.’

Julia Louis-Dreyfus making it to the ‘movie table’ and acting like it.

Emma Thompson throwing her Louboutins on the stage after claiming that the red on the soles was her blood. All that while drinking a martini. She can multi-task!

Jacqueline Bisset thanking her mother who used to say ‘go to hell and don’t come back.’ Ouch!

Leonardo DiCaprio laughing at Tina Fey’s introduction of him: ‘And now, like a supermodel’s vagina, let’s give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio’

Matt Damon for being the night’s garbage man without glasses.

Gender Equality ruled as on top of the traditional Miss Golden Globe (Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s daughter Sosie) this year there was also Mr Golden Globe called ‘Randy’ who was Tina Fey’s adult son from a previous relationship.

Matthew McConaughey bringing back ‘All right, all right, all right’ from Dazed and Confused

Melissa McCarthy was Matt Damon?

Amy Poehler making out with Bono. And more to the point – Bono letting Amy Poehler make out with him.

Diane Keaton accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award on behalf of Woody Allen. And finishing with a song!

The jaw-dropping Andy Samberg win for Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Tam Honks is the National Treasure.

The last Hurrah! for Breaking Bad.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hoping the Golden Globes 2014 would be a beautiful mess, which it was!
