Last night the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards opened the 2014 Award Season and luckily this year E! broadcast the whole ceremony here in the UK on top of their coverage of the Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet. Needless to say that I stayed up to watch all the Hollywood glamour from outside on the Red Carpet and inside in the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
As usual the Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet was filled with sparkle, colour, fab manis and awkward hugs (the award goes to Leonardo di Caprio and Bradley Cooper). Red, white and black gowns stood out in the midst of the sunshine and blinding jewelry. Jennifer Lawrence even started to ‘jewelry-drop’!
There were a couple of ‘WTF’ moments with block colours (Sandra Bullock), yellows (Lena Dunham) and Johnny Depp’s hair-do. Johnny, why – why – why?! Also an impressive man-bun (Jared Leto) was present as well as Julianna Margulies’ hair which was prepared for gail force winds.
Here are our favourite moments from the Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet:
Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine) dazzled in a Armani Privé Couture gown and Chopard jewelry. Perfect old Hollywood glamour with a plunging back. Absolutely gorgeous!

Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) only wears pieces that speak to her. We heard this Ralph Lauren cape-gown screaming to us ‘Stunning!’

Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) stunned in a simple white Gucci gown and green Christian Louboutin heels.

We applaud Emma Watson for her bold choice – a red backless dress with slim black trousers from Dior Couture Collection with Roger Vivier heels and Dior pearl earrings.

Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) sparkled in Oscar de la Renta accessorized with Bulgari jewelry.

The eternally beautiful and stylish Julia Roberts (August: Osage County) wore a dress and shirt by Dolce & Gabbana accessorized with Harry Winston jewelry.

Our favorite New Girl Zooey Dechanel looked like a modern fairy princess in an Oscar de la Renta gown accessorised with gorgeous Oscar de la Renta heels, a Charlotte Olympia clutch and Neil Lane jewelry. Loved her cuter than cute daisy nails!

Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara was ‘smuggling Colombians’ (her words) under the black Zac Posen gown. But the stunner was the Lorraine Schwartz necklace.

Reporting for the E! Red Carpet Show and The Fashion Police Kelly Osbourne looked perfect in an Escada gown. She had the best make-up of the Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet.

The baby pump was the ultimate Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet accessory. Kerry Washington (Scandal), Olivia Wilde and Drew Barrymore all looked glam; but this year it was Olivia Wilde’s year in a sparkling green Gucci. She even shared her baby’s due date as ‘May the fourth be with you’.

Men, men, men also shined on the Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet. Bradley Cooper (American Hustle) looked extra dapper.

Leonardo DiCaprio and the The Wolf of Wall Street director Martin Scorsese made quite a power couple.

No complaints on Orlando Bloom from here either.

We say yes on the appearance of ‘the man-bun’ and Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club).

Still the best looking band on the Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet – U2.

The best looking couples: Naomi Watts with Liv Schreiber (Ray Donovan) and Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club) with Camila Alves
