Yes, I definitely stole my title from Mulan. Side note: I used to love the Mulan sound track. I'd listen to it in my car driving to High School with the windows down and belting out the tunes. As soon as I got close to the school I'd roll up my windows and turn on the Radio to alternative rock. It was all about fitting in for me.
Back to the story. This past weekend Jared's brother invited us to go rafting/ kayaking on Sunday. Causey Reservoir is an a small lake about an hour away from our house that does not allow any speed boats. It's a kayaking-paddle boarding-cliff jumping-swimming-rafting paradise. We brought up 2 boats that are probably considered rafts. They both blow-up and fit about 3 to 4 people and they have little hand motors to control them.
I like to think that I am an outdoor girl even though I am not outdoors often. I don't love hiking, I get heat stroke incredibly easy and I have this bad habit of just falling asleep when it's hot out. We spent most of our day up there. It was the most fun I've had out on a lake this year! Jared's younger brother, Clayton, cliff jumped. Bryce, his older brother, went snorkeling and caught some crawdads and minnows. Jared had a great time fishing and I stayed in the water all day. I was swimming with my niece, Elsie and splashing my nephew, Colton. Those two really are so entertaining. Bryce brought up minnows and we had them in a bucket, until Colton fed them crackers and they all died immediately, their deaths may have also been due to Elsie and Colton trying to catch the fish in their hands. Those poor fish, luckily some bigger fish had some cracker-filled minnows for dinner.
We were out on the lake from about 10am - 3pm and when we got back in the car I felt so outdoorsy. I had just spent the entire day paddling a boat with my own arm strength around a good sized like. I was amazed. Less amazed when I woke up Monday and my arms were killing me!
Do you consider yourself outdoorsy?
