Who Knew Selling a House Would Make Me Sore?

Posted on the 24 March 2014 by Mikidemann @mikidemann
Last night at 8pm I told Jared “I’m going to sleep for 30 minutes and then we can watch our shows.” Jared claims that he gave me a little shake and told me my 30 minutes were up and I muttered something about not being done yet. I don’t remember that.
All I remember was that Saturday night we didn’t go to sleep until about 5 am Sunday morning. At that point I probably could have slept until 2pm, but instead we woke up at 11am and went to the Sandy House (read Selling Sandy). It would have been one thing if we lounged around all day, but we didn’t. We put ourselves to work! Our current project at the Sandy House is “Curb Appeal”. Jared has been tearing up lawn and replacing it with sod. Josh went along all the entire yard and edged to make sure the grass doesn’t look overgrown - which it was. It was spilling about 5 inches onto the sidewalk, driveway and flower beds that line the whole 5th acre that the house is on.
I helped clear out all of the flower beds. Keep in mind these chores haven’t been done to “selling” standards in 9 years. I pulled weeds, dug up old plants and bushes then planted A LOT of new flowers and bushes. It took us just over 6 hours.
I was exhausted, so at 8pm, when I lied to Jared and said I’d wake up in the 30 minutes, that’s why. I did wake up at about 1am and take out my contacts, change into pajamas, brush my teeth and wash my face. Then I zonked right back out. My body is really sore today.
The positive side is that the Sandy House is looking really good. The yard looks 100 times better since we’ve been working on it. I really need to take out my camera when we’re there. It would be easier to explain how much work has gone into this so far. Josh and Jared have definitely done more than me. Jared’s been spending week nights over there and since Josh lives there he pretty much never breaks from the daunting task. Hopefully we can get the house listed and sold in the next 2 months. Wish us luck!
Yikes, who knew selling a house would make my back so sore?

Does anyone have tips for selling a house?
