Why I Must Be the Time Travellers Wife

Or the one in which I unveil my husband as Doctor Who's new assistant...
I'm sure of it, the Panther of News has been on a jaunt or two lately. He said he was off skiing, and even bought a special Sherlock-style hat to keep his ears toasty.
But actually he had booked a return trip on the Tardis. It's not surprising really. Rumours have been circulating for a while that it's time for the Time Lord's side kick to be a bloke - after all it had been a job for the girls for far too long.
When Karen Gillan announced that she was hanging up Amy Pond's mini-skirt, telly bosses were already head hunting the PoN for the role.
Naturally, he is perfect for a pan-galactic adventure - clever, but not cleverer than the Doc, confident in his idiosyncratic sense of style, snappy with a witty one-liners and, of course, loyal and good with aliens.
I believe his recent extra-terrestrial test drive was back in time to the first half of the twentieth century. Back to days when equal rights for women was still seen as a fad and twitter was what birds did.
Why else would he come back from his couple of days away and think the following tweets were a good idea?
