WIAW on the 7 Day Slim Down

It’s Wednesday which means several things… its hump day, I have completed 2 days of the Tone It Up 7 Day Slim Down, and it’s WIAW!

I know it’s only been 2 days, but I have been focusing on my eats and following the plan as close as I can. It honestly feels like I have been eating healthy for an eternity. But that is the problem. I eat well for two days and I am like, “Oh, I am back on track, I can have that piece of chocolate or snack on crap, it’s ok”. WRONG! And that is exactly what I need to work on. I have started the 7DSD once before and blew it all before I even got half way through because I had this mentality. This is a big part of what I need to change. I need to remind myself this is a jumpstart to lifestyle and that does not include processed, unhealthy food. DUHHHH… It’s such common sense, but in the moment it is so easy to forget.

I have been diligent about my workouts – 30 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes at night, with some toning in there too. I actually just started training for a ½ marathon so that helps cut out one of the cardio sessions.

The eating is where I struggle. I pack my food every morning so I am prepared for the day but work has been so busy.

I need to remind myself to eat or else before I know it I am starving and it’s 2pm which is no good because part of the plan is to eat every 2-3 hours. Monday I never ate my Meal 3 and Tuesday I missed Meal 2 (but I ended up eating it with Meal 4 because I was hungryyyyy).

Here is a day of my eats:

I start my day with water, black coffee and a Meta-D drink.

Breakfast is my favorite… protein pancake topped with blueberries!

Lunch: Salad with chicken, cucumbers, broccoli, green beans and an apple for dessert

Snack: Protein shake [unpictured...sorry]

Dinner: Chicken salad, again… boring!

It feels good to eat well and resist temptations. By packing my food I stay on track and eating 5-6 small meals a day I stay more full and have less of a desire to snack.

What are your tricks and tips to staying on track and toning up? I feel like a lot of people are feeling the summer time crunch and are rushing to shape up before it’s full on beach weather!
