Hi, I'm Katelyn a Mary Kay consultant. I am twenty-two years old, and ever since elementary school, I told my my parents that one day I am going to run my own business. I began to work for Chick-Fil-A in high school and would go around saying, "One day I am going to run a Chick-Fil-A". As fabulous as that would be, I realized the food industry just wasn't where my heart was. Still struggling to find my niche, I landed a great job at a recruiting agency. My history with Chick-Fil-A and my current position has taught me self-discipline, punctuality, and organization. Though I love my job, I needed something that would challenge me and push me to success! I want to be in control of my life both in the professional sense, and have the flexibility I have always dreamed of. I feel as though I am able to live this life through Mary Kay, and the motto I have for myself is to put God first, family second, and career third. These words were once spoken by Mary Kay Ash herself, and that is my goal.
To make a long story short, a lovely friend asked if I would throw a free beauty party in my home, complete with facials, make up demonstrations, and fun games. I immediately responded, "Yes please!" After we had the party, my friend explained to me what Mary Kay was all about and what the company stands for. I suddenly found myself purchasing a starter kit, and starting my business as a Mary Kay consultant. The founder of Mary Kay, Mary Kay Ash, started with very little investment money, but since then she has made herself and her family successful with their own individual contributions to the company. She wanted nothing more than to empower women to feel beautiful inside and out. Mary Kay Ash has taught women to be independent, confident, and successful. Therefore, on March 15, 2012 I began my very own business. What is even better is I received a free pair of diamond earrings for starting this journey! Every young girl and woman should feel proud of herself. Mary Kay has given me the opportunity to achieve my dream I have had since I was ten years old. Now, I am able to encourage ladies to have the same wonderful feeling. I am able to help women be a leader in today's world, and feel beautiful while doing so.
