We had ice cream for pudding this evening, she sat quietly eating it, careful mouthful by careful mouthful.
“Are you enjoying your ice cream Hope?”, I asked.
Pause.
Lick of lips.
“It’s EXTREMELY good”, she said and then carried on eating it studiously relishing each mouthful and not dripping a single drop from her small spoon.
Then she picked up the bowl and did what every self respecting ice cream enjoyer does, she licked the bowl clean, put it down and smiled, “Deeeeeelicious”.
