Writers As Healers

Posted on the 06 November 2013 by Jenrene

So many of you don’t know I am participating in #NAPHOPOMO , because  I just LOVE pictures that much!  But one of the things I love the most, too, is writing so I am also participating in nablopomo because I love  blogging! But I really don’t love blogging as much as  I love taking pictures. Taking pictures just captures an entirely different ESSENCE to life, and  captures such a grace in living that hardly anyone else can fathom. I was asked to do my first wedding, this evening, and I said YES!!!   Because it’s such a challenge! It’s such a time to prove to myself I can DO WHAT I BELIEVE I WAS PUT ON EARTH TO DO!!  ( What’s that??!!) take pictures? Not hardly…. Actually I believe I am called to put lives on display, to be honest. In a very interesting, and encouraging way… I do. And so if this blog impresses upon you to reach for  or desire something new in your life, it’s possibly because my life, or someone else’s life was displayed in such a way that  it really was impressive. my book

Quote: As Writers, We Are Called: “Literary Missionaries” ~ Marlene Bagnull, “Write His Answer”

I want to write about now how  writing makes me feel awesome, and  how it heals me. But most of all, how it makes  me feel others heal through my stories. although I write this a very long time ago,  I am sharing now , because it’s so relevant to my team of writers I have  rallied up!

It’s called: Writers As Healers

  • Healers are those who interpret Gods purpose on the earth and share its foundational strength.

  • Healers help reveal a sense of transparency and hope for themselves and others.

  • Healers can help other to change their livelihood and  perceptions.

  • Healers are people who can help others to have insight and see the reason for pain and struggle.

  • Healers are those who can help to build altars of hope and refuge where there was once crisis.

  • Healers have a deep understanding of sorrow and our voices   become the message behind “why” we experience collective  and similar pain.

  • Healers must consistently recognize their need for growth; and nurture their growth through  consistent self-reflection and self-evaluation.

  • Healers must master the process of surrender, its benefits and its strengths, so when we give back, we offer healing.

  • Healers have a “love- hate” emotional attraction to the broken-hearted and oppressed; yet they sometimes run from pain themselves.

  • Healers must recognize their own personal needs and strive to learn various ways in which they should meet them.

  • Healers are teachers. They lead people to their purpose.

  • Healers, as a result have a hard time “asking for what they need” and submitting to issues of vulnerability. Yet vulnerability can be their strength, once surrendered.
