Our Last Garage Sale
I’m in the middle of a writing project! I haven’t worked this hard on a writing project in a very long time. One of the fun parts about this project is that I’m writing it with my mom. There was a time when I was determined to do this whole writing thing completely on my own. But I’ve discovered that sometimes, in some situations, I’m better working with someone rather than alone. I had suspected this for some time but I was not willing to admit the truth of it. I’ll probably write more about this in a later post. For now, I’ll just say that it’s important to have the right partner. On this project, our talents complement the others…actually I find that in a lot of situations with my mom.
I’ve spent the last year or more teaching my mom how to write a blog. She’s actually gotten quite good. I nag her to write more and sometimes she even listens. This week she said my favorite phrase, “You were right.” I did not say, “I know!” I just thought it really hard and I know she heard it. But then, when I suggested that we write this book as coauthors and she said, “That’s a great idea! I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before!” I totally heard the underlying message of, “That’s what I’ve been trying to get you to realize from the beginning!”
If you are interested in checking out my mom’s blog you can find it here.
So what’s the book about? Well, this is a nonfiction offering about Garage Sales and it’s going to be an ebook. This book will be published under my nonfiction name. It will not be by Kristine Duffey (although that’s me too) it will be by Holli Hagan-Rice along (Yep, that’s me too!) along with Kelli Davidson.
As soon as the book is published I’ll post more about it. I’m pretty excited and I know my mom is, too. But for now I’d better get back to work!
Thanks for reading!
