Posted on the 18 December 2011 by Dailydoseofmusings @mythoughts4sure

Let me introduce you to 'Kelly'.  Kelly can be found over at Beauty Obsessed here on Blogger.  She's a lady that's always trying out new beauty products, whether it be hair, skin products, all types of makeup. She loves sharing and exchanging info with fellow bloggers. Visit her space and you'll be sure to find product reviews (which are always her own opinion), lots of tips & tricks, how-to's, info on hair care, skin care, DIY treatments & projects, anything beauty related. (Men... refer that woman in your life to her space, might just save you some big $$$)!!!
She also throws in a few posts unrelated to beauty now and then. When you are done visiting her space, you can also find her on Twitter@kellabel
ME:  What prompted you to create your blog 'Beauty Obsessed'? Have you always written about things pertaining to 'beauty' such as tips, product reviews, etc?
KELLY:  I've always had this obsession for makeup and beauty ever since I started wearing makeup. Then it started to grow from there and last year i got involved in a few beauty sites and had a lot of fun interacting with other girls and talking about our opinions and views. That's when I decided to start a blog, I knew I would never have a problem coming up with topics. I guess you can say since my blog started has been the first time I've really written about beauty.
ME:  Do you think it's fair that women tend to hog/take up all the closet space, shelves in medicine cabinet, dresser space, room on vanity, etc... what percentage of space do you occupy?
KELLY:  LOL! Good question. I feel that a lot of times it is fair because:, most woman own more clothes, beauty products, skin care products, etc. than most men. So if that's the case then it only makes sense that we're going to need more room. But if there is an equal amount of products between the both then it should be equally, but that usually isn't the case. I don't have this problem..yet. When I do have to share space with someone it might be a problem since I own enough beauty products & clothes to open up my own little store lol.
ME:  Sounds like a lot of products and clothes.  Don't worry folks.  If we ever see Kelly on the A&E show 'Hoarders', we'll be quick to intervene.  After all, we do have experience with forcible entry and search and recovery.
ME:  What do you hope that someone 'takes away' from reading your posts?
KELLY: I've accumulated a lot of beauty tips & tricks over the years as well as knowledge on how to apply certain makeup or style you hair, etc. So I hope they take away at least one thing that can help them from my posts whether it be a certain tip that can help shorten their beauty routine with or whatever. As long as I can help I'm happy :)
ME:  I've noticed that you mostly write/post entries with your female readers in mind. We men, like to take care of ourselves too to some degree. How come you don't write more/post tips, product reviews (your opinion) for men? Huh? Huh? (ex: tell us men what fragrances you women like, what after shave women prefer on men, should men have the occasional manicure too, etc). Will you if I ask nicely?
KELLY:  I honestly never thought about that. I guess I've never heard of a lot of guys reading about beauty blogs. I know that guys like to take care of themselves and they should. I would love if guys wanted to read my blog and if I knew that maybe I would write a few posts pertained to how guys should take care of themselves.I can't speak for all woman but for me anyway I know I've always liked the way guys cologne smelt better than girls perfume (not like I wore them or anything) lol. I think as long as it smells nice then its fine. If it's a scent that I can't tolerate I would probably have to let him know. Again, I can't speak for all woman when it comes to what fragrances they like and what aftershave a guy should use, but I'm pretty sure like I said before as long as the woman likes the scent then its all good :)
ME:  We've taken a vote and it's anonymous, we want to see your suggestions and comments in issues related to men and our grooming (or lack of) habits.  The guys and I are compiling questions and topics for you.
ME:  Is there something you have been wanting to change/add/remove from your blog, but haven’t gotten around to it?
KELLY: Actually yes, I've been wanting to change the template for my blog. This is something that I've recently been thinking about. So hopefully I'll find one I really like and do it.
ME:  If a guy is standing at the cosmetic counter and he wants to buy his lady friend some perfume, should he buy the scent that he likes or should he stick with the scent that she likes? Is giving your lady friend the 'trial' tube of perfume as a gift too cheap?
KELLY: So by "lady friend" I'm assuming you mean girlfriend or wife, right?  If you're going to buy your "lady friend" perfume, of course you're gonna buy the scent that she likes, if she doesn't like it then she's not gonna wear it and then what's the point? Unless it's a scent that you're not sure she likes or not, route.Again, I'm assuming your talking about a girlfriend or wife, so yes getting her the "trial" 2 ounce sample perfume for a gift is a little on the cheap side. Don't you think so? I've never gotten the trial or free sample perfume as a gift before and I don't know how I would react. I'm not one of those girls that are all into materialist things, but there's a certain line when it comes to that. Also, I can't imagine anyone or guy not knowing the difference between a trial sized perfume and the real thing.

ME:  Do you value every comment you get on your blog the same, regardless of the content of the comment?
KELLY:  I value every comment I receive on my blog but there are limits. You can tell if someone is leaving a comment just to get you to check out and follow their blog. If they don't say anything about the post (i.g "Hey!! I love your blog and wanted to let you know I'm following, here's my blog, make sure you check it out"). I hardly get comments like that but if I do then I know that they haven't read anything on my blog. So I guess I don't value every comment the same, if I get a comment that has anything to do with what my post was about then I'm most likely going to check out their blog and follow them back.
ME:  Suggest the top three grooming tips that you wish that men would focus more attention on.
KELLY:  1. Fingernails: Maybe it's just me, but nothing turns me off more than a guy that always has dirt underneath their nails. I understand it happens but there's a few things called soap and if you really wanna put in effort a nail brush. It will take 2 seconds and you're nails will be clean. 2. Body Hair: I'm sorry, but another thing that can be prevented is a lot of body hair. (i.g hairy backs? I'm sure I can speak for most woman when I say that's not something you want to touch lol)3. Lips: I might be over exaggerating with this one, but chap stick isn't just for woman. They make them for men and they wont make your lips look shiny either, just nice and soft and not chapped and cracked looking. lol. Also, if its in the winter and your lips tend to get chapped more, which is normal. Here's a quick & simple fix:Take either regular sugar or brown sugar, with some olive oil and mix it in a small bowl. Then take an old toothbrush and brush your lips with the mixture. Believe me, you'll love it whether you think so or not. Also: before you go to bed, apply some Vaseline to your lips and it will make a big difference.
ME:  There you go men... having that 'passion in your pants' clearly isn't enough!  "...sugar or brown sugar, with some olive oil and mix it in a small bowl.."  Hmmm. Really?!?
ME:  Some men believe that 'the more make up - the more to make up for', Do you agree? In your opinion, what 's the worst mistake that women make when it comes to wearing make up?
KELLY:  I've heard that that most guys prefer girls that don't wear too much makeup and I can see where there coming from. I think the worst mistake woman make when trying to impress a guy is overdoing it on the makeup, so yea I agree. I'm not saying not to wear any makeup. But, if you're meeting a guy for the first time or few times, and try to cover your face in a pound of makeup its not going to work because they're going to eventually see you without any makeup, so you might as well be yourself. I personally don't like to wear lip gloss or sticky lipstick so i can imagine what a guy feels like when he has to kiss someone that has all this sticky goopy lip gloss on. Yuk!
ME:  Amen!!! Women ... please read and (similar to instructions on your shampoo bottles) repeat if necessary.
ME:  Would you consider a guy who goes for the odd manicure or has the odd facial done too feminine?
KELLY: I think its fine if a guy wants to get a normal manicure or facial, as long as they don't go overboard with it. If there more into getting manicures and facials done than I am though..then that might be an issue. But no, I don't see anything wrong with a guy wanting to look or feel clean and no it's not too feminine.
ME:  Bonus Question for Kelly - Which do you prefer... the commercials for AXE or Irish Spring  or Gillette?
KELLY:  I prefer the AXE commercials because, 1. their funny and 2. I like the smell of AXE more than the others.Do I get a prize for answering the bonus question? lol
ME:  Axe? Really?! And why yes... you do win a prize!
