“When you realize how perfect everything is you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.” ~Buddha~

So I thought that today’s quote and reflection would come from the idea of good and bad, and by that I mean events, not people. Sometimes bad things just happen. Maybe you had your hopes up for a concert, or party you were planning on attending. Before you know it, the baby sitter has cancelled and it’s too short notice to get another, or you parents say that you can’t go, or the tickets sell out while you’re in line to purchase yours. Kind of a bummer, right? Well you never know. Maybe you didn’t get to participate, or something you were waiting for doesn’t happen for reasons you just don’t see. Now I’m not claiming this as some form of divine intervention, though if that’s more the school of thought you follow, by all means take it that way. I’m just saying, who’s to say what’s good or bad? And that is exactly why I have a video here to share with you.

I was directed to a website by a friend entitled Spirit Science a while back, and some of it I found fascinating, other parts just didn’t quite resonate with me. Regardless of that, one video in particular has always stuck with me. It’s part of their series titled ‘Patch Parables’, and I’m going to post it here for you to see as well, because the message is pretty clear; you never know why something happens until after it’s happened.

This video does a good job of making apparent the fact that although you may be disappointed by the outcome of events, it doesn’t have to be necessarily ’bad’. Also, the results might not always be so cut and dry, or obvious, but keep in mind, even if you can’t see a reason for something, it will always be what you make of it. Time is the most valuable commodity we have during this life. What we do with it is what matters. If one thing doesn’t work out, it’s just opening up the opportunity for you to do another. Make the best of it and you will always find your time being used productively.

The video for this reflection is not my work and all credit belongs to Spirit Science.
