You were outside again, shirtless and kneeling in mud, thanking God and Mother Earth for Science.
I interrupted to pull a clean t-shirt over your head, mentioning how your combination of gratitudes was strange, because the three usually take opposing sides.
You explained (slowly) how intangibles don’t take sides– how people just pretend in order to possess power when feeling lonely.
You said we’d be better off imagining useful things, like dragon-bots.
It seemed frivolous then, but now I think even dragon-bots would be more valuable than the wars we imagine.
For tomorrow– for you–
I endeavor to pretend better.

Today, I’m pretending that flowers have microscopic landscapes in their center, where people grow. What are you pretending?
This post was for the Peace Children monthly challenge at B4peace. It won’t come as any surprise to my regular readers that when I think of kids and peace, I think of my baby brother.

On a related peace note, I asked Kozo if I could establish a RedBubble site for B4Peace. (The proceeds of which will go right back to B4Peace prizes and such.) More importantly, I think this will be a great opportunity to build a collaborative shop, related to all things blog and peace. If you would like to volunteer ideas or donate a design, get in touch with me or Kozo. Goldy will also be helping us manage submissions and ideas!
This is our very rough start: http://www.redbubble.com/people/b4peace
