Happy Monday! Remember to focus on the good things happening this week and set goals that will help you have a joyful week. Basically, don't come down with a case of the Monday's!
The Monday Blues suck, but that's not what I wanted to talk about today. Today I have a question for you, how do you spend your time? Are you doing the things you really want to do?
I have mentioned before on the blog, that I am looking for my Mr. Joy Chaser. I would like to get married, and have children. I welcome the opportunity to share my life with the right man. The odds of him just showing up on my doorstep are pretty slim, so over the last few years I have made a conscious effort to spend my time in ways that would increase my likelihood of meeting Mr. Joy Chaser. Nothing wrong with that right? Well a couple weeks ago while venting about the woes of dating, as us single girls are known to do from time to time, I said how tired I was of doing things in hopes of finding the right man. Things like picking certain places to go for happy hour, going to certain gyms to workout, going out alone, attending certain events, etc...
The person I was venting to asked me what would I be doing if I was not doing those things. My answer was a shocking and disappointing, I don't know. How is it that over the last few years of trying to meet my Mr. Joy Chaser I have lost sight of how I'd like to spend my time???
While I want to find my Mr. Joy Chaser and start the marriage and children stage of my life, maybe I need to take a step back and spend a little more time on me. The majority of my time is spent at work, followed by, blog stuff, and working out (#100DaysofFitness Challenge). My down time and social time are what is in question here. I need to figure out what kinds of things do I want to be doing with my down and social time and then make sure I am doing those things. It's fun to go out and look for guys, but that should only be part of my down time and social activities.
Now I'm sure I am not the only person to ever lose sight of how they'd like to spend their time. Maybe you have been too focused on trying to find your Mr. Joy Chaser, like me. Or maybe you have been spending all of your time studying for or in school. Some have probably been putting in way too many hours at the J-O-B in hopes of earning that next bonus and or promotion. Oh, and lets not forget about the caregivers who spend all of their time taking care of loved ones.
Tell me, how do you spend your time? Are you doing the things you really want to do? If you were not focused on whatever is happening in your life right now, what would you be doing with your down/social time?
