It’s hard to balance out a life where you have multiple job titles, from having a job, to being a mom of two, a girlfriend, and on top of it all trying to squeeze in some time to study for school, cook, clean, chase kids and everything else that could possibly be thrown in your way. Lately, I have been completely stressed to the max, so I sat down and made a list of the easiest and cheapest way to de-stress myself and just relax in the best way possible.

  1. A warm bath: I needed this. I cant remember the last time I enjoyed a warm bubble bath ALONE in peace and quiet. This is the place where you can relax forget about your problems, enjoy some music and even light up some candles to give it a more spa like feeling.
  2. Favorite food: This is the time to go out and indulge in your favorite food. It doesn’t hurt to do it once in a while. Release all of your stress and feel no guilt. Have no rush to it. Just sit down and enjoy it.
  3. Breathe: When you’re angry, sad or stressed, the best thing to do is just walk away, maybe outside or to a quiet room and just take a few nice deep breaths. To me, this is easiest way to clear your mind and relax your body. This technique also gives you the opportunity to think clearly.
  4. Write down positives: When I feel like nothing is going right and everything possible is just crashing down, that’s when pen and paper comes in handy. Write down all of the positive things in your life. Sometimes you need to remind yourself of all of the good that surrounds you. Doing this brings you back to a happier place with some stress relief.
  5. Your favorite smells: Go out and surround yourself with your favorite smells. Aromatherapy? These smells help relax your mind and mood. Nothing makes you feel better than being around something that smells really good and attracts you to it.

These are some of the techniques that have helped me de-stress when I really needed it. I hope you find this useful and it helps you relieve some stress as well.
