If the consistent deformation of the moral ground of religion reflects the severe injustice inflected upon the human spirit by religions, then why do the fantasy roads of pleasure lead to addictions? If revolting against religion is the noble realization of liberation, then why do easy women lead to a state of male arrested development? Why do things get worse when the moral fiber of a society gets frayed? Why self-indulgence is intimately linked to a state of self-control dysfunction that spills over other aspects in life? Scientists report that children who were able to resist eating the marshmallow were more likely to be successful, socially competent, healthy, and well-educated by the age of 11. Contrarily, children who ate the marshmallow were more likely to grow to be unhealthy, socially inadequate, and poorly educated. The concept boils down to how people with effective self-control can make it through life at the top of their game. Because, simply, giving in a craving for food, porn, video games, social media checking, and texting every time it hits isn't exactly the high way to life management and success.
Our nation became desensitized to vice. When a peculiar fashion wear is introduced to society, we react firstly with repugnance and shock. Across history bright words such as freedom, democracy, women's rights, liberation and the fight against terrorism had been used to serve agendas as dark as a murderer's soul. We believe instantly and react just as they want us to. We lost the free will to think and that is one thing that all wise men should mourn.
Nothing is more dangerous to a police state than a functioning mind. Though our current situation is somber, there is no reason why things cannot get better—they can. It starts with a cohesive nuclear family because that is precisely what they aim at tearing. If every house fostered parents who teach, monitor, advise, lead by example, and support, things can get gradually better. If every young man and women thoughtfully read the Qur'an and understood heartily that the teachings of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are the most merciful and righteous, things can get gradually better. If we collided with others through reading, experimenting, listening and observing, things can get gradually better. If we understood that strength lies within accepting ourselves as slaves to Allah, the creator of the heavens and the earth, things can change. If only we knew who is the real enemy and the real ally, things can change.
Change sprouts inside the heart. It is a strenuous journey of acceptance, persistence, focus, insistence, and patience. To resurrect our deceased minds from its sleep, we ought to admit how damaged things have become first for denial is a veil that blocks the bright sun of change. And as Steven Covey put it, '' ifyou want to see the sunset, you have to stop running towards the east. ''Simply put, attitudes are more important than facts, and when we become aware of the nature of our problems, we are no longer excused from attempting to fight for change. What is left is the hard work to do; the reading, analyzing, accepting truths even if they bruise an ego; the vision, the persistence on becoming of value and impact and the hope in tomorrow.
Let's hope for warm homes, decent men, respectful women, educated youth and a collective society of goodness. Let's Scrutinize the teachings of what we are following and compare one to another to willfully come to the light. Let's Open our hearts to the truth and the truth shall set us free.
