A healthy body homes a healthy mind. Health is of importance to everyone, and must be! Imagine those days when you had a recurring stomach problem? Could you focus on other activities which required your attention? I am sure the answer would be negative. It is very important to maintain our health, though am too someone who has just realized this after suffering from a long-term illness that took away a valuable year of my youth.
The key to better health constitutes of two important players - Diet and activity. We are what we eat, as they say. A balanced diet ensures our body gets ample nutrition that it needs to keep up with the wear and tear of one's body. Crores of cells reproduce and die everyday in our body. Hence, ensuring that these cells get enough fuel to support this process, it is essential one intakes a balance and wholesome diet.

It was just a few months back when I realized I was overweight with a BMI of 29. I am 22 year old and I was warned by my doctor about cholesterol problem and risk of diabetes. Yes you read it right, at an age of 22! I will not deny, but accept how I too have followed the fad of crash dieting to lose weight; however, only damaging my body even more.

The craze of a flat belly, toned buttocks and thigh-gap is nothing new and unknown. Millions of men and women starve themselves to achieve the unbelievable standards set my models and actors, thanks to Photoshop! In the course of this, they deprive their body of essential nutrition. Like mentioned previously - a key to healthy body is a combination of 70% proper diet and 30% physical activity.

In the fast-paced world today, the most compromised thing is our lifestyle. Opting for junk food instead of home-made food, processed food that can be made faster and no room for physical activity lead us to unhealthy body. I was too a victim of the same. Hence, it is essential to maintain a proper diet. A balanced diet constitutes of a wholesome meal which caters to body's all the needs.

I am working on shedding some weight. On guidance by experts, I have been advised to start my day with a glass of lemon juice with honey. It suppresses craving for food which is not required by the body. It is also a very good alternative to processed sugar, especially for someone like me who is cursed with diabetes in heredity. I prefer using Dabur honey for this as it is trust-worthy and something which has been used in our family since its inception. I have also replaced regular sugar with honey. I am putting efforts and am sure I shall be able to achieve a healthy body soon without starving myself with crash dieting.
