…amp up

Instagram coffeeThere’s been an ongoing battle between good and evil, that Zer and I have done our best to document here at 2WC.  Today, evil has taken the lead again, as a recent study infers that caffeine may stunt our capacity for creativity.

Personally I find that I’m much more creative when I’m awake, and caffeine helps immensely with that. I do freely admit that I have no scientific evidence to back that up—only a proven track record of consciousness.

Plus, if we’ve learned nothing from our constant monitoring of the health benefits of caffeine, it’s that every now and again science finds those too.  That is, when they’re not telling us that it’s going to kill us faster.

Let’s take a moment to remember some of those positive attributes: Caffeine boosts energy (and conversely decreases fatigue); enhances physical, cognitive, and motor performance; and aids short-term memory, problem solving, decision-making, and concentration.

On that note, I’m sure it’s because of my second variety of caffeine today (tea pictured on the right here) that I’m able to surmise that these results may vary significantly on an individual basis given that some people are naturally more inclined towards analytical thinking, while others are tend to go through life with a touch more whimsy.

Although, it’s probably that same caffeine that’s preventing me from expressing that thought through song and dance…tough break. Perhaps Mary Poppins can do it for me in today’s bi-daily smile.

Godspeed caffeinated creatives, Godspeed.
