The theme for the month is "...and the world was silent again"Let me tell you a story today,A story of an Angel, of youthful ageShe covers her body, covers her headLike the procrastinators covered her coverage
Amongst the terror of my own country,Living amongst MCPs betrothed to every rightTo exploitTo rape and to kill; police, politicians cannot give them fright
Amongst the hue and cry ofThe mothers who lost their children to insanityOf a blood thirsty psychopath,And prayers for every soul bequeathed to the Almighty
...And the world was silent againAs it always does muteAnd thus I heard another cry for helpA torment, a spasm so acute.
An Angel fights for education,The birth right of all children.Sexuality does not count,Nor does any religion.
Malala Yousafzai is her name. She speaks every child's language,She craves for books that are barred for her eyes,She yearns for a better chapter, she yearns a better page.
Her History books are scarredShe finds no mercy thereAnd so she tries to make afreshA History -for future to look upon an' adhere
A little girl, she is, our Malala. At the age of eleven, did she conveyThe ill treatment on women and child alikeBy Taliban
that forces their views upon 'em all to obey.
A film on her life by the NY TimesLed to the Second Battle of SwatThe Taliban fought the governmentAnd our Angel, with the Taliban fought.
Those Assassins stopped her activismTried to put an end to it allOne day coming home from school,Our Angel was shot in neck and crown
This led her to another battleA fight for her own life detonatesShe won this battle, I'm glad she could handleYet the biggest one for her still awaits...
This war she fights alone, ought needTo hit the right target, gun a bulletNot become a weapon against childrenOr an eponym to Russian Roulette.
This poem to dedicated to Malala Yousafzai, the sixteen year old education activist from the Swat Valley in Pakistan where the Taliban banned girls from going to school. My heart and soul goes to Malala.
"I have a new dream ... I must be a politician to save this country. There are so many crisis in our country. I want to remove these crises." - Malala Yousafzai
