Attempting to Blog Again in 2021

Posted on the 01 July 2021 by Kimeetay @Kimee_Tay

Hello earthlings! This is Kim attempting to blog again in 2021. Also since it’s 1st of July which is like a good date to start something (I guess?).

I have always been fond of writing and blogging, but never did sustain doing it regularly. This would probably be my fourth attempt (I think) at blogging – started out in high school, to college, to university days and now finally a working adult. Nevertheless, I am trying again (no shame) with a fresh mind and with a bit of framework in place.

So, in less than 3 years, I’d be 3 decades old! And I have yet to figure out what I myself know that I’m really good at and/or what I love doing (which is different than what people say I’m good at) – my Ikigai. To be honest, I feel that I’ve been in a state of limbo in the past couple of years just living day in day out on autopilot.

When I was younger, I used to live by the phrase “Go with the Flow”. Come to think of it, to a certain extend it was a pretty good quote to live by – follow the currents and you won’t go wrong. At the same time, I am beginning to think that too much of “going with the flow” has lead me to become a somewhat lost and purposeless adult.

With that said, I’m on my lil soul searching quest, and this attempt of blogging would be to document my journey – hopefully to hold me accountable too – to stay on track and not fray off from what I intend to achieve that is to find my purpose.

During the first half 2021, I picked up reading again, have read 8 books so far this year – which is more than what I’ve read in the last 5 years combined (lol good job Kim!) A few topics that caught my interests (as of this writing) are financial independence, data visualization and creating/art.

TLDR, I’m attempting to blog again with the intention to document my journey of finding purpose in life at almost 30.

P/S: To anyone out there who hasn’t found their purpose, you’re not alone!
