Happy Pi Day!
Yes, it’s once again 3/14. Which happens to also be the beginning of everyone’s favorite irrational number, Pi.
Pi (or π) is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. It is also a constant, meaning that for all circles of any size, Pi will be the same.
What really fascinates the Pi enthusiast is that it’s irrational and transcendental. Meaning, it continues infinitely without repetition or pattern, and has so far been calculated to over one trillion digits.
Although, if we’re being truly honest, the greatest thing about Pi Day, is the the other kind of pie. To be fair, it is typically a circle, so it’s totally related to the mathematical pie…sort of.
