…Be Mindful

I know, that’s way too enthusiastic for a Monday, but at this point we’re almost all the way through it, so that deserves a little excitement.

Before we get too far into the hustle and bustle of the work week, I thought I’d take a moment to reflect on the importance of downtime.

I know it’s too soon. You can still remember what the weekend feels like, and you can’t afford to relapse into your relaxation mode this early in the week.

Before you have a complete panic attack brought on by the thought of slowing down, consider some scientific evidence.  The scientific community now believes that by practicing daily mindfulness we can take advantage of the neuroplasticity of our brains and thereby improve the state of our lives.

Translation, slowing down every now and then (you know, stopping to smell the roses) makes you a happier and more productive and happy individual.

So take a deep breath, suck it up, and let yourself slow down and relax (even if it’s only for a few minutes).

And good news, tomorrow is Tuesday.
