Blogalicious Recap Part 4: Top 10 Blogalicious Blogging Tips Blogalicious was 3 weeks ago but I am still basking in the glow.  My PBS is improving though :-)  I could go on and on blog post after blog post detailing tip after tip of all the things I learned.  I get so much out of the conference which is why I am willing to travel for it.  For your sake, though, I am going to wrap it up and end my Blogalicious Recap with part 4 giving you my top 10 tips from Blogalicious.
In no particular order:
  1. If you are turned down for a sponsored post opportunity you can ask why.  Just be professional.  You can ask how the decision was made and what things you can do or work on to be considered for future opportunities.
  2. Create Images 700 x 1000 for ideal pin size.
  3. With videos make your point in 2 minutes or less to not lose the viewer's attention.
  4. When making decisions (blog and otherwise) ask yourself "What's the worst thing that can happen if I try and fail?" Be concrete and have a strategy to deal with that worst possible outcome.
  5. If you want to transition into public speaking know why you want to be a speaker (If it is for the money be specific about what the money is for vacation, tuition, etc...).  Knowing your why will help you handle rejection better.
  6. Pick fonts, colors, and sizes to use consistently for your blog headlines, content, and accents.
  7. Having a Twitter Party on the day your book is released is a great way to promote it.
  8. Do your homework.  Be aware of what blogs and brands are similar to you.
  9. Be mindful that you are not only building a community of readers but a community of brands.
  10. Be easy to work with.  Have integrity.  Do what you say you are going to do.
If you were not able to attend #Blogalicious5 this year, I hope these 10 tips along with Parts 1, 2, and 3 of my recap have made you feel like you were there in spirit.  What would you add to these tips?  Which tip do you think is best?  Do you disagree with any of the tips above?
