My fellow Americans, it’s officially last call for joining the FIFA Women’s World Cup bandwagon. Tonight we’ll see the U.S. women’s national team take on Japan in the championship match.
I’m sure you have your reasons for not joining in before today, but now that we’re to the championship game, you really have no excuse.
It’s only one game, so time shouldn’t be an issue. It’s only 90 minutes of relatively uninterrupted play. Compared to your average baseball game, that’s nothing.
Plus, it’s Fourth of July weekend! Nothing says American pride quite like a few good USA chants. I can’t imagine a better way to wrap up a patriotic holiday weekend than cheering on the women’s national team.
Actually, I take that back, another World Cup Championship victory would be an even better finish to a Fourth of July weekend. Let’s go USA!
