This is the first of many(hopefully) book reviews that I plan to publish occasionally on my blog. Kindly give it a read.

Delivering Happiness
Readers of this book are given an unique opportunity to get into the mind of Tony Hsieh. How he thinks about business, company culture, investment, money, happiness. Part motivational, part humorous, part business and part autobiographical.

A great book to know the zappos way of doing business and customer service. It starts off with the childhood entrepreneurial stints of Tony right up to his college, then on building zappos and taking it through hard times and building it as a formidable brand and ends with tips on how to integrate what Tony has learned into your business and everyday life.

I learned quite a lot. Especially the grit and belief that Tony and his co-founders had and their religious insistence on core values of the company and customer service. It shows that even in a world of chasing growth and profits it is possible to grow and build a brand with the core values of the company still intact.

Would recommend it for anybody interested in corporate culture, business, startups or customer service.

Steal like an artist
More like an amalgamation of ten blog posts on roughly around the same central topic, which are no doubt good as single pieces but as a whole is great. Simple, concise and practical.

A short and sweet book on creativity and how to leverage your environment and resources to enhance it further. It is full of anecdotes quotes and illustrations which make it a fun and engaging read.

But don’t be fooled by the illustrations and the candid humor that Austin brings to the table, his tips really make sense and are practical enough to be incorporated right away. Austin doesn’t say anything new for most of the part but the way of presenting them and the real life anecdotes and examples of how he used the ten tips is beautiful. Now it seem cheesy/corny to many but I liked it anyway.

Would definitely recommend to artists or anybody with a hint of creativity. A very nice-to-have-in-your-bookshelf book.
