In unsubstantiated reports from Police tweets there has been an arrest in the Saturday shooting at the Eaton Centre. As per CP24 there have been a tweet from Toronto Police that an arrest has been made.
On Saturday with thousands perhaps 10s of thousands of shoppers at the Toronto Eaton Centre in and around the food court at the North end of the Mall were shocked and sent fleeing as shots rang out. It always saddens me the senselessness of shootings. The shooting which purportedly has gang affiliation claimed the life of one and injured 7. One woman who was pregnant was trampled on as everyone was fleeing the Mall. Most have been released but one boy 13 is still in Sick Kid’s with Life threatening injuries. Why would anyone choose to pick such a busy place to settle a score? Senseless! What justification could he possibly have for causing this much violence.
I think on top of the shooting charges he should be charged with the bill for all the police and ambulance service that was needed as well as loss of business for the Mall. Perhaps this would deter others from pulling this crap in Public.
Our prayers go out to the victims, shoppers, mall workers and emergency workers! You don’t have to be shot to be affected by this traumatic incident. There should probably be some type of crisis counseling for anyone who was working or shopping there at the time. We must stand together and not allow fear to prevent us from going about our lives.
