…brighten up

…brighten up

...lay it on real thick

For all of the people out there that can not handle surprise it’s astounding how many of us hate to be predictable.

I suppose that a pretty solid (possibly translucent) case could be made for predictability, but be careful not to confuse it with reliability.  It’s not the same thing.

Nonetheless, few of us aspire to it (predictability that is).  Which is why I was shocked this morning to find myself unwittingly following a trend.

Nail polish.

Not only is it a trend, it’s a trend created by the state of the economy.  In the past lipstick sales have been an indicator of economic health–the lipstick index.  Recessions actually increased their sales.

This time around it seems bright, fun nail polish colors are the litmus test.

With funds low, but the desire to stand out still high, many (and apparently most) have pushed back their cuticles and laid it on thick.

How could we all fall into this trap of conformity?  Damn my weak nails and love of fun colors.  How could they betray me so?

I feel like I need to mix things up…do something unexpected…Squirrel!

…and Go RAMS!!!
