Casa Verde Cebu: Casual Dining with a Touch of Class

Posted on the 12 November 2011 by Iyabelles @iyabelles
A friend told me that a trip to Cebu is not complete without dropping by Casa Verde. I can't blame her. I have heard nothing but purely good reviews about the place and its famous dishes. For years, I have been dying to try out their famous affordable but delectable ribs - so I included a much-awaited visit to Casa Verde as part of the itinerary on my first trip to Cebu :)
Casa Verde has several branches. The main branch is at 69 Lim Tian Teng St., another branch is at The Walk at IT Park and the most accessible branch is at  The Terraces at Ayala. We traveled using public transportation during our Cebu trip so we opted to visit their most accessible branch.

The owners of the place created an ambiance of casual dining with a touch of class. Diners are offered American food at unbelievably affordable prices. Bestseller dishes at less than Php200 each?! Where else can you find anything as affordable as that? :)

Buffalo Wings
Php118

One of their famous appetizers is the Buffalo Wings - chicken wings dipped in Casa Verde's winger sauce and served with blue cheese. The wings were tasty enough to be eaten even without the blue cheese dip which comes with the order. One serving already includes seven pieces of tasty buffalo wings.

Bacon and Cheese Potato Skins
Php108

The Bacon and Cheese Potato Skins, another appetizer, includes four pieces of potato skins with melted cheese, bacon and chives on top. The potato skins were served with sour cream. This appetizer is so filling that it could almost replace the main dish.

Brian's Ribs
Php198

The famous Brian's Ribs! The smell of this dish alone can send you to food heaven. Now I know why I never found a bad review about this place and its famous dishes. Two large pork ribs glazed with piquet sauce and served with plain rice and corn and carrots = pure indulgence. I think one serving plus an extra cup of rice is already enough for two persons.

Our little feast! :)

What's a Casa Verde meal without dessert? To cap off our dinner, we had another famous Casa Verde treat - Death by Chocolate. What I imagined as chocolate fudge cake turned out to be rocky road ice cream cake with bits of chocolate and dripping with chocolate syrup. One slice is already enough for two to three persons - unless you have a really sweet tooth.
