…Catch Up

Posted on the 23 July 2013 by Zer @the2women

stack-of-newspapersThe past two days (or so) have seen the world’s media consumed by the next in line for the British throne.

I would offer up some witty criticism of all those who waited with bated breath to see if the heir would be a boy or a girl, and then did the same today while waiting for the new royal family to make their first public appearance…if I hadn’t done the same thing.

Now that the excitement has died down (or at least is on hiatus) it’s time to catch up on what else was going on in the world these past few days.  Or at the very least take a break from all the royal baby coverage.

Surprisingly, the other news did not stop:

  • Pope Francis is making his first trip abroad as pope.  Whilst visiting Brazil, the pope has so far survived a potential bomb threat, and a wrong turn in the pope-mobile.
  • Former CIA contractor, and Washington’s enemy #1, Edward Snowden, is still at the Moscow airport…and leagues ahead of anyone else’s “worst layover ever” story.
  • The Milwaukee Brewer’s lost their left fielder, Ryan Braun, for the remainder of the season.  Braun is serving a 60 plus game suspension for violating the MLB’s drug policy.

Of course, that’s not all the news, but that’s all I’m willing to spoon feed to you.

Speaking of spoon feeding, what are we thinking for baby names?

Currently the favorite is George (with odds at 2/1); although, other strong contenders are James, Alexander, Arthur, Louis, Henry, Richard and Phillip.

Break time’s over.
