Celebrate Good Times…

Posted on the 23 November 2011 by Drowqueen @theburnedhand

To celebrate my 100th post tonight, I had a friend over and we drank some wine.  Okay, so technically, I was going to do that anyway and it just happened to coincide with my post tonight.  Remember way back in the day when you had your friends over for real live talking?  Yeah, I still like to do that.  Not only that, but I still like to dance around in my living room to “oldies”.  It was not funny in the least when I got a blank look as I was like “Oh I used to love this song, especially the part that goes like this…”

Put the needle on the record.  Yup.  I said record.  In two days I am going to visit my relatives who really know how to throw down and yes, we are going to listen to records and talk.  I can’t wait.  It helps that my uncle has one awesome sound system from a little company called McIntosh and you can bet he will put on his Michael Jackson records.  We will close the evening with Funky Town and everyone, and I do mean everyone, singing along as loudly as possible.  Family.  Fun times.  What will you be doing after the tryptophan kicks in?

“If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all generations of your ancestors. All of them are alive in this moment. Each is present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people.”  ~Thich Nhat Hanh
