Chasing Joy at Be Beautiful Expo 2015, Recap

Are you on Instagram?  If you are I hope you saw my posts from the Be Beautiful Expo this weekend.  The Expo was this past Saturday at the Philadelphia Convention Center.  I was able to cover the event as press for Chasing Joy.  I was allowed to bring a friend so I invited my friend Channel to Be Beautiful with me.
As I mentioned in my post last week I was automatically interested in attending the Expo when I first heard it advertised because of the name.  I mean Be Beautiful automatically says empowerment, inspiration, and joy to me.  Overall Be Beautiful was a nice event.  I am glad I went and I hope they have it again next year.  Before I go into more detail check out this video to hear what Channel had to say about the Be Beautiful Expo.
Here are my highlights from Be Beautiful.  The Expo was a great event for small businesses.  Most of the vendors present were small business owners.  Everything from natural hair products and authors, to jewelers and dentists were represented.  Maybe next year I'll have a booth for Chasing Joy.  The panel discussion that appealed most to me was the Living Single panel because as you know I have not yet meet my Mr. Joy Chaser.  This panel was really entertaining and covered topics like love at first site, bad pick up lines, women approaching men vs. making it easier for men to approach women, and mama's boys vs. men who love and respect their mothers.  It was fun to see the crowds reactions to the celebrity panelists opinions. A really cool aspect of the Expo were the celebrity sightings.  You did not have to wait until they hit the stage to see them up close and personal.  Another thing that I really liked about the Expo was the app.  It was really well organized with a list of all the vendors and a schedule for the main stage.

I really hope Be Beautiful comes back to Philadelphia next year.  I see so many opportunities or the event to get bigger and better. The inclusion of food and concessions would be awesome. Breakout sessions on self esteem, dating, marriage, beauty, would go nicely with the panel discussions.  I see this expo being a great thing for women and girls in Philly.  I hope there is a Be Beautiful Expo 2016.
