Today I'm going to do something I don't like to do, but the circumstances have forced my hand. Today I will weigh in on a movie I have not seen. Why?
Put simply, I refuse to believe that "The Hustle" could possibly be as bad as the low (but slightly improved) rating it currently has on Rotten Tomatoes implies.
I know, I haven't seen it, but if people can chime in with uninformed negativity, I think I'm entitled to a few uninformed positive points. I also know there are those why "expected more" from this film and their negative reviews come not from anger but disappointment (the worst punishment of them all).
I will not deny them the right to those opinions. I will remind them that it's a comedy (that's it, that's the end of the sentence).
This Flick Friday, I'm really just here to remind everyone to see the movies you want to see and take the green tomato with a grain of salt (delicious). At the end of the day, it's a reflection of the opinions of those lucky few who've made a living from sharing their opinion.
So if you want to go see "The Hustle" with your mother this weekend, you do you. And if you want to go see "Endgame" for the fourteenth time, bring the tissues.
...bi-daily smile...
