…Chew Things Over

popcornMovies and popcorn have gone together since the beginning of time (give or take a few billion years), but a recent study may put an end to this timeless pairing.

A group of researchers in Germany have found that chewing makes us immune to advertising.

Okay, so maybe not immune, but somewhat more resistant.  And it’s not just film advertisements.  Apparently when we start chewing our ability to imprint information on our brains all but disappears.

What the study didn’t include was how this affects our ability to remember the actual film.  Have we been watching the same movies over and over for years and not even realized it ?

Well, the answer to that is definitely yes, but it does make you wonder all that we’ve missed over the years if chewing is such a distraction.

The good news is, if you were chewing while reading this…you may not have to worry about it for long.
