For most of the country it’s a cold one out there today, and by cold I mean the freezing point will be a fond sunny memory.
Seriously, the high in Chicago today is -12, I didn’t think that was allowed.
So, to keep spirits up I thought I’d share some tips for staying warm.
Number 1: stay indoors (which you should really, if you can). Normally I’d suggest the age-old, family secret—the zone of warmth, you are only as cold as you think you are—but I’m pretty sure the “zone of warmth” mindset shorts out at -5 or so…
Other than that, running from indoor destination to indoor destination should keep you warm enough to not freeze to death, but over-exerting yourself in such extreme temperatures is ill-advised, so it seems you have a decision to make.
Seriously though, if you have to go outside today—layers are your friend. Although I’d highly recommend staying warm tip number 1: stay indoors. Stay safe and stay warm.
