…Count On It

Posted on the 13 November 2013 by Zer @the2women

11-12-13Today may not seem like any other day, and in reality, it is.  But to the superstitious individuals of the world, it’s 11/12/13, the second to last sequential date of this century.

A lot of people consider today to be a day of special significance, good fortune, and hopefully luck.  That may or not be true, but it does say something about our culture’s fascination with numbers.

In reality, today is only 11/12/13 because more than 400 years ago, Pope Gregory XIII created the Gregorian calendar, and well, so many years later, it happens to be 11/12/13.  Although, I guess you could make an argument for divine inspiration.

Of course, a lot of people are hoping today has at least a little extra luck than any other day.    According to a David’s Bridal survey (so take it with a grain of salt), an estimated 3,000+ brides were married today in the United States.  And a good number of those weddings took place at 9:10 (as in 9:10 on 11/12/13).

So, it might not be a unique anniversary date, but here’s hoping luck is on your side.

It may not be lucky or unlucky, but it is unique, and a nice break from all those other “normal” days.  So happy 11/12/13!  Hope you enjoy what’s left of yours.
