Attention procrastinating online holiday shoppers, you might want to take a few seconds away from organizing your sock drawer or dusting the baseboards for an important bit of news that affects your holiday deliveries. You know, the ones you’re totally going to get to today, right?
UPS on-time delivery rate has dropped to 91 percent due to the strains of this holiday season’s online shopping. Your backup, FedEx has also dropped to 95 percent.
That means you may need to adjust your rock solid plan to wait until the last second to make all your online purchases.
Of course, if you needed someone to point out that shipping times have a high probability of being delayed in December, then I have some other obvious news for you. Sales of candy canes, evergreen trees, and holiday wrapping have gone up this month.
My point being, you can only procrastinate for so long. So get on it, and start clicking. Or suck it up and go into an actual store. With the increase in online shopping, it might not be as horrible as you remember.
