Mail enthusiasts breathed a sigh of relief this week.
It seemed like the days were numbered for Saturday deliveries. Thankfully, Congress stepped up this week, and reminded the U.S. Postal Service of their commitment to deliver our mail through rain, snow and Saturdays.
Yes, eliminating Saturday delivery would have saved $2 billion annually and helped avoid a potential multi-billion dollar, tax payer funded bailout, but would the cost have been worth it?
What would Saturdays be without our catalog, bill, and junk mail delivery?
Thanks to Congress, we’ll never know.
