The US Postal Service’s unofficial creed, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night…” is expanding to include Sundays, at least for Amazon customers.
This past Monday, Amazon announced that they will be offering Sunday deliveries at no extra cost…to you.
In other news, on Monday, postal workers got the not so exciting news that their one day weekend is a thing of the past.
It’s great news for Amazon and those of us hoping to get our holiday shopping finished a bit faster. But it’s an unlikely marriage, considering the Internet (aka – Amazon) is a large part of the reason that the USPS has run into some financial troubles in the last few years.
Considering Amazon has been looking for a way to deliver even better service to its clients, and the USPS has been looking for a way to keep its head above water, the partnership makes sense for both parties…even if one of them seems to be getting the bum end of the deal.
I guess they should just be thankful Amazon isn’t offering holiday delivery.
