…Dream On

Science is moving closer to understanding our dreams, the literal ones at least.

A recent study has taken a look at the relationship between brain activity and the contents of our dreams.

Study participants were asked to describe their dreams and then their description was catalogued with their brain activity at that time. The idea is then that if enough data is gathered, we’ll be able to identify what a person is dreaming based on their brain activity.

Kind of makes you wonder what your brain looks like during that recurring dream where you forget your pants and your front teeth fall out.

It also makes you wonder if you want scientists peaking into your subconscious mind. Maybe there’s a good reason that you forget most of your dreams the second you wake up.

It could be a defense mechanism, and looking into what we don’t remember. Or maybe we just don’t really need or want to remember that recurring dream where we’re being chased by a hamster.

Maybe we should leave Pandora’s Box alone.
