Today, as we do on the 31st of July each year, we celebrate the birthday of that most famous of boy wizards, Harry Potter.
Of course, as Potter fans know, today is not only Mr. Potter’s birthday but also the day that (on his 11th birthday) he discovered he was a wizard.
And if you’re scoffing at the idea of celebrating the fictitious birthday of a fictitious character, may I also remind you that today just so happens to be the birthday of another magical individual, J.K. Rowling herself.
Also, lighten up…
And join the party…
It’s been 20 years since we first met the boy wizard, but 37 years since his birth, according to the canon of HP.
And we’re just about a month away from the start of the plot of “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child.” (And yet still no cell phones.)
But we’re still a few year’s away from the bulk of the play’s timeline (spoilers aside)…
So don’t worry Potterhead’s there are still plenty of celebrations ahead of us, and I doubt we’ll ever tire of honoring the boy who lived on his special day…
…bi-daily smile…
