Enjoying Change #MicroblogMondays

Change is a lovely thing.

It is great to welcome the sunshine today after the heavy rains we’ve enjoyed the past week. Yes, enjoyed. Mother Nature has her way of taking care of the pollution in the air from Diwali celebrations and oh, how I admire Her for it!

I am also enjoying the change in the weather. Pleasantly cool with the hint of impending rain as the sun plays hide and seek with us. Refusing to let the clothes on the line dry fully. Threatening us with a downpour any moment now…keeping us guessing.

Everything looks beautiful. Even the usual sights – the road outside our house, the trees, the potted plants trying to hold on to the precious drops of water. Everything.

But naturally, change is something we must embrace.

When we resist, we suffer.

Nature is the best example.

Look at what happens when there is a storm.

When trees resist, they’re uprooted.

When cliffs stand tall and strong, they are eroded.

Even stone cracks.

In the same way, humans are not invincible.

Nothing is.

To grow, to thrive, we must be flexible and open to learning.

When we are headstrong and hang on to our points of view, we cannot survive. When we believe only “our way” works, we stagnate both in mind and spirit.

When we open our minds to change – new things, new people, new experiences, we open ourselves to joy and we learn new things.

When we focus on possibilities, and open ourselves to fresh perspectives, rather than whine about our problems, we invite happiness.

Consider the sails of a boat. If they were stiff, they’d tear with the force of the wind.

Because they’re flexible, they befriend the wind and together, they go places.

Change is good.

If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies, right?

Here are some beautiful sights around me that never fail to fill me with joy. I see them every day, yet they lift my spirits each time.

The sidewalk around our place has trees that shed their flowers all the time, creating a carpet of loveliness…

A close up…what a blend….the soft flowers on the stone. It always breaks my heart to walk on them.

Everything finds a space for itself – see the shoot cozying up with the tree

In our yard, this magnolia continues to flower. Filling the air around it with its fragrance

I love how these trees reach out to each other from across the road and hug, creating a lovely arch to walk under.

This stunning pot sits near the entrance to our building. The leaf looks even better in person.

Lush greenery after the rain. Love how the drops glisten on the leaves!

Talking of change, I love how these ingredients change to make way for cake!
