…Even the Score

Posted on the 23 October 2013 by Zer @the2women

Post-Season-MLBTonight, the 2013 World Series kicks off, so it seems like as good a time as any to comment on the MLB’s backwards policy for awarding home field advantage for the series.

For those who don’t follow baseball, but still care, home field advantage is determined by the winner of the All Star Game, which is played in July. It’s the leagues attempt to make the game “matter.”

Please explain to me why the All Star Game needs to matter this much? Why can’t it just be a fun mid-season match-up?

True, I’m a little biased seeing as the National League failed to secure the advantage for my Cardinals, but there has to be a better way to determine this.

How about a coin-flip? Rock, paper, scissors? Or maybe a good old-fashioned thumb war? It would, of course, be best out of three.

Of course at this point, it’s too late to save this series, all we can do is hope that the Cardinals are ready to repay the the Red Sox for the 2004 Series.

Go Cards!
