It’s Monday, so it goes without saying that we could all probably use a little motivation. This Monday I’m feeling motivated by #MuseumWeek, so I thought I’d pass it along.

Now I know what you’re thinking: “There’s more than one hashtag day dedicated to museums?” Yes! And although #MuseumSelfie Day has a special place in my heart…

What do you do on a rainy Saturday in #NYC? Take selfies in historically significant mirrors at @metmuseum, of course.

I’m a sucker for all things museum, and I’m even more of a sucker for museums on social media. Because museums rock on social media. That’s just a fact.

Case in point…

Want to spend a night in one of the world’s most famous paintings? In celebration of our upcoming exhibition Van Gogh’s Bedrooms, we’ve created a replica of the most iconic bedroom in art. We’re listing the room on @airbnb and giving you the exclusive opportunity to stay there for a night. We’ll start accepting requests tomorrow, so keep an eye out for our next post! ‪#‎VanGoghbnb

Last May, after ten months of conservation work, Charles Le Brun's arresting portrait of Everhard Jabach and his family was put on view in gallery 617. Enjoy this behind-the-scenes photograph of Michael Gallagher, Sherman Fairchild Conservator in Charge, Department of Paintings Conservation, applying the first layer of varnish to the surface of the Jabach portrait. #TheMet #MuseumWeek #SecretsMW

Seriously, if you do nothing else to celebrate Museum Week, follow a few of them on social, and prepare to be amazed (and maybe even learn something). Although, I would recommend visiting one. Just a suggestion. Happy Museum Week all, celebrate well.
