T minus two weeks until Halloween, which means today is the perfect time to discuss your deepest darkest fears.
It turns out that as Americans, we have quite a few of them (according to the results of a new survey). The survey, conducted by Chapman University, asked questions on fears ranging from death to aliens (the extraterrestrial kind).
Thankfully, E.T. didn’t crack the top ten (we’re not that paranoid yet), but we don’t seem to have a lot of faith in our elected officials. Topping the list is the corruption of government officials. Which seems reasonable, although not as entertaining as aliens or ghosts (also on the list).
The remainder of the top ten relates to personal safety (terrorism/war) and financial safety (having enough money/identity theft). All of which are completely reasonable fears. However, they also make it clear that we’ll never see the robot alien attack coming…followed shortly by the zombie apocalypse.
