…Fall For It

Posted on the 21 September 2018 by Zer @the2women

…Fall For ItIt's the last day of summer. Yes, despite what Starbucks would have you believe, autumn doesn't start until tomorrow.

It's a time of year that divides us into two camps. For some, tomorrow can't come soon enough. For others, the sunny, summer months have once again ended too soon.

I won't say one side is more right than the other. However, no matter which side you fall on (unless that side is in the southern hemisphere), fall is coming whether you like it or not. So, why not be excited about it?

I assure you, it's a lot more fun on the pumpkin spice, cozy sweaters, and fuzzy socks side. But if sugar-laden beverages and knit garments and footwear don't do it for you, perhaps you can ease into the season with some autumn-themed and -inspired films.

Whether you're into magic, rom-coms or just straightforward comedies (com-coms?), there are plenty of options to get you in the autumn state of mind...

"Practical Magic" - Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, a little magic, and some midnight margaritas...need I say more?

"You've Got Mail" - If NYC in the fall, Nora Ephron, Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks and the mental image of a "bouquet of newly-sharpened pencils," don't warm you up to autumn you may be a lost cause...sorry.

"Young Frankenstein" - For those of you still holding out, here's a curveball from Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks, Madeline Kahn, Cloris Leachman, Marty Feldman...and have I made my point yet? This classic comedy deserves to be revered year-round, but it's also another reason to show some respect to autumn.

If you're still not feeling it, well...might I suggest moving to a warmer climate...or hibernation. We'll see you in the spring.
