Happy Friday! For those of you who know me well, you know I don’t hesitate to break out the pink. Not garish pink or Barbie pink but just, well, pink. I opted out of it this Valentine’s Day, though. I spend most of my days in uniform, and I didn’t want to be wearing the Valentine’s Day uniform {seriously, I think every woman I saw when we went out to dinner was wearing a pink or a red dress}. So to make up for that, and to contribute to this week’s “Friday’s Fancies” theme, if price were no object and if everyone else weren’t wearing the same color, here’s what I might have considered:
pretty in pink by kristin-saling featuring a tweed dressMango tweed dress + Windsmoor long sleeve shirt + Christian Louboutin pumps + Christian Louboutin mini handbag + C. Wonder chain link necklace
My fashion taste loves Louboutin, even if my wallet does not. I just can’t justify spending that much money on something I might wear once. That’s yet another reason I’m so very grateful to have discovered Rent the Runway. Go online, pick your {normally unaffordable} designer dress and accessories, get it delivered {in two sizes just to make sure it fits}, drop it back in the mail when you’re done with it. Seriously, it’s that simple. Thanks to Rent the Runway, I got to show off this Lilly Pulitzer Carolina chiffon dress for a night on the town with my husband and send it back with no fuss. I love asymmetric gowns – I paired this one with an asymmetric hairdo, a sort-of-artfully-messy side bun, simple earrings, a Maori paua shell necklace I bought in New Zealand, black tights {it was cold out there in NYC!}, Armani heels, and a Coach bag. I’m no movie star, but I felt like one – even one of the waiters stopped me to tell me that my dress was beautiful

P.S. None of my posts or raves about Rent the Runway are sponsored by Rent the Runway – RTR is just that awesome. I had a great experience with them and I’ll be coming back for more!
