Mindful Monday is here and I have a very timely reminder for all of us.
Fill your cup
Each one of us struggles with the following at various points in time:
Growing to-do lists to complete before the year is out.
Holidays coming up, which means celebrations, time with family and friends.
Shopping, cooking.
Winding up work to make guilt-free time.
And just when we think we're there, something comes up.
At the end of it all, we feel spent, drained, stressed and not quite satisfied with what we've accomplished.
Can we find peace, we wonder.
Can we escape the noise, the mental chatter?
Can we get over the shouldaves and couldaves?
It isn't comfortable to feel this way.
To get back to feeling rested, relaxed, renewed, it is time to fill your cup.The thing is - we are all blessed with abundant energy. However, no matter how enthusiastic we feel, this energy drains out, reminding us to fill our cups.
When our cup is full, we feel good. Clear-headed. Connected with life.
When our cup is empty, we feel exhausted, irritable and disconnected.
If we keep going even when our cup is empty, our body isn't going to enjoy it. It tries to tell us, but when we don't listen, we end up forgetting things. We become short-tempered. We don't sleep well. As a result, we lower your immunity and open ourself to sickness.
Don't wait for that to happen.
Take time to fill your cup.Do it now.
Make yourself a priority.
When you let yourself be pushed around, you're telling others it is okay to do it too.
Put self-care at the top of your list.
Take care of you.
Be kind to you.
Make the commitment to fill your cup each day.Interestingly, I had this post ready yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I received an email today, inviting me to join the "Operation Fill Your Cup" challenge - what a coincidence! Talk about Universe responding! This is a 21-day challenge in radical self care and is expected to take 10 minutes, perhaps less per day and starts on Dec. 9. Do join me if you like. I am looking forward to see how it goes.
Have a happy week! ♥Thank you for your comment ♥
