Friendship, on Its Way…

Posted on the 23 July 2013 by Rarasaur @rarasaur

I put the finishing touches on the Friendship Bracelet + Peace Letter mail outs tonight– that means they can go out in the mail tomorrow!  If you requested one, be on the look out!  International residents– it can take awhile since I’m sending it basic-style.  Also, I made all the bracelets long enough where they’ll probably need to be trimmed down unless you’re handy with knots.

In the process of finishing these mail outs, I realized a few things:

  • I am very possibly the worst friendship bracelet maker in the world.  Some of you will have living proof of that soon.
  • Wrists are really weird things.
  • 240 Yards is 8,640 inches. That strikes me as beautiful.
  • Baker’s Twine is amazing.
  • Most of my days can be summed up with variations on quotes from Meg Ryan movies.
  • My husband has the patience of a saint.
    • Me:  Dave, take a picture of these, but don’t get them out of order. I made each one with specific peace thoughts, specifically for each person.
    • Dave: They look identical.
    • Me: They’re identical in thread.  They’re not identical in intent.

The first 50 friendship bracelets.  Seemingly identical, but not. You may recognize that smiling moon in the background. It’s page 1 of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by the immortal, inspirational Eric Carle.

Did you recognize the artwork of Eric Carle before you read the caption? Are you handy with knots? When was the last time (if ever) that you made a friendship bracelet or sent a note via regular mail?

Have you entered my raffle yet? If not, learn more about it, or skip straight to entering!
