Happy Super Sick…I mean Bowl…Super Bowl Monday! Sorry about the exclamation point. I know the day after the Super Bowl can be rough, especially if you catch the mysterious flu bug that makes the rounds every year.
If you did come down with the “super” bug, take comfort in the fact that you’re not alone. It’s estimated that 14 million people called in sick today.
Although, it turns out that (unlike you, of course) the majority of those people may not actually be sick. Shocking, I know.
Symptoms range from mere nuisances like headaches to vague symptoms such as a low-grade fever. Basically, if it can clear up in 24 hours, it’s fair game today.
While this tradition may seem harmless, it’s also a good way to scare the people who are actually sick into the office. Which sounds like a really good reason stay home.
On that note, I’ll leave you to enjoy your work day, sick day, or not-so-sick day. To the Patriots fans, welcome back to reality. To the victorious Eagle fans, congratulations on not completely destroying Philadelphia…and also on that whole Super Bowl thing. Finally, to those who are actually sick today, I’m so sorry, but your boss will never believe you.
